A warm, grounded space for women navigating the deeper questions of life.
Slow Psychology is a small, thoughtfully created psychology practice for women of all ages who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious or stuck in habits that no longer serve them. We offer a steady, gentle space to calm the nervous system, make sense of what’s happening and take realistic steps toward a life that feels more like your own.
Our approach is warm, collaborative and practical. We draw on evidence-based therapies and where helpful, the soothing rhythm of knitting and crochet to support regulation, reduce overthinking and create new, kinder patterns of coping. Every session is tailored to who you are, what you’re carrying and the pace you can manage right now.
We know that meaningful change doesn’t come from pushing harder; it comes from small, supported shifts repeated over time. We walk beside you as you regulate, rebuild and reconnect with yourself.
We are based at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and offer telehealth services nationally.

meet us
A stead, gentle space held by people – and practices – that help you breathe again.
I’m Louise, a clinical and health psychologist and have spent more than 25 years supporting women through burnout, anxiety, identity shifts, habit change and heath concerns. My approach is warm, practical and deeply respectful of the realities you’re carrying.
Jymbi is my long-standing therapeutic assistant who has a calm and comforting presence in the therapy space. He greets you gently, sits beside you and offers a steady companionship and quiet warmth that supports the processes of therapy.
And our third team member: the soothing rhythm of handwork. For many women the repetitive, patterned motion of knitting and crochet provides a focus that helps settle the nervous system. Busy hands soften and quiet busy minds. Rhythmic movement quiets spirals, cravings and sensory overload.
Together, we offer a space where you can slow down, feel supported and reconnect with yourself.
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
