The Vision & Impact
- The Show aims to elevate visibility of the Australian yarn and fibre-arts industry, supporting small and ethical businesses, indie dyers, and local producers.
- It emphasizes sustainable, eco-conscious crafting and “slow-fashion”: encouraging craftspeople to choose ethical fibre, support local producers, and embrace mindful creation rather than fast fashion. Australian Yarn Show+1
- It builds a community around yarn crafts — fostering connection, mentorship, creativity, and well-being for makers of all ages and levels.
In recognition of its impact, the Yarn Show was named a state finalist in the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards (Building Communities category).
Already, the program promises a diverse workshop offering — knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, felting, embroidery and more – inspiring both beginners and seasoned crafters.
Also, the organizing team encourages applications from small businesses, makers, stallholders, sponsors, and volunteers — reinforcing the inclusive, community-driven spirit of the event.
